OUR WORK
FIFTYSIXTY
NORTHWOOD STREET, BIRMINGHAM
FiftySixty is an exciting new development of 44 one and two bedroom contemporary apartments in the heart of Birmingham. The apartments offer open living with juliet balconies, creating a truly unique place to live.
The development benefits from secure gated access, and under-croft parking for bikes and cars, helping residents optimise their urban living experience. The properties are within
walking distance to St Paul's Square and The Jewellery Quarter.
With thoughtful consideration of green spaces, pockets of plantations breathe life into the development. The courtyard is the hub of the development and an extension of the individual homes.
TRANSMISSION HOUSE
MANCHESTER
“The building has been designed to fit seamlessly into the existing urban fabric and be a part of the Northern Quarter as soon as it is completed.”
In 2016 we acquired the last remaining undeveloped plot in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
It was part of a joint venture with Salboy in which we developed a new build apartment scheme in a prime location on Tib Street, near the iconic Affleck’s Palace. We developed 183 luxury apartments above 14,500sqft of new commercial space, each having between one and three bedrooms. With 8 storeys, the development was designed to be in keeping with the red brick warehouse style and vernacular of the surrounding area and was consequently
applauded by local residents and the broader architectural community.
A focal point is the unique angled ‘V’ projection at the junction of Tib and Church Street. The design also includes a sequence of roof gardens and integrated amenity spaces, providing enjoyment for the residents as well as aesthetic appeal.
As always, we used modern methods of construction, and locally sourced materials and labour wherever possible.
After overcoming significant challenges throughout the process, the development was successfully completed in early 2020.
OXID HOUSE
MANCHESTER
“The site is identified as the “Northern Gateway” to the Masterplan produced by Manchester City Council for its proposed “Piccadilly North Masterplan – HS2.”
This striking 13-storey new build apartment block with 119 apartments was completed in 2018.
Situated on Newton Street where Ancoats crosses with the Northern Quarter, it was previously a disused office building and carpark.
As a nod to the industrial heritage of Ancoats, we designed the building to have eye-catching perforated steel Coreton cladding panels which provided an oxidised appearance.
Having been well received by the wider architectural community as well as the local residents, it’s now an established visual representation of the city centre and has a 24-hour concierge, large private gym and rooftop terrace.
Again, modern methods of construction were used along with locally sourced materials and labour. The roof also includes a solar panel system which saves on both heating and ventilation, significantly reducing energy consumption.
BURLINGTON SQUARE
MANCHESTER
As another part of our joint venture with Salboy, in 2020 we completed this new build development of 273 apartments.
In an excellent location on Manchester’s ‘knowledge corridor’ between the University and Science Park, the development consists of four stand-out blocks around a central landscaped space with each apartment benefiting from huge floor to ceiling windows in buff brick pillars. The 9-storey development also has basement parking and a luxury communal space with double floor height.
TRIDENT
SALE, MANCHESTER
This development of 88 modern apartments was repurposed from a former 1970s office block. Located in the suburb of Sale, the higher floors have uninterrupted and impressive views across South Manchester while also being close to the town centre and all it has to offer.
Each high-end apartment has been created with large windows and copious floor space as well as their own parking space, so it’s no surprise that all apartments are occupied.
WHITTLE HOUSE

EARLSDON, COVENTRY

The building pays tribute to the esteemed Sir Frank Whittle, a local to Earlsdon, making a truly special place to call home.
